The National Defence Academy (NDA) is the first tri-service academy in the world and is located in Khadakwasla, Pune, Maharashtra. 

The NDA campus spans about 7,015 acres (28.39 km2) of the 8,022 acres and is located about 17 km southwest of Pune city, and northwest of Khadakwasla Lake.

 Since the establishment of the NDA, there has been no odha (rivulet) desilting work done in the area, which resulted in the overflowing of these odhas. During monsoon, the water used to overflow on bridges and enter some of the buildings of NDA. The overflow of water caused lots of damage to the surrounding farms. Also, many wild and domestic animals die or get carried away by the strong force of water. After the assessment, Naam Foundation performed the desilting of these odhas  and nalas which resulted in no flooding during the monsoon season. This also ensued the percolation of water in the ground. It’s been 2 years now there has been no problem in the area due to work done by Naam Foundation.
